Histology · Pathology · Gross to slide
One continuous zoom,
from specimen to micrograph.
Histolayer layers a gross cross-section directly over its microscopic counterpart, so students see exactly where the slide came from, and how normal tissue and disease differ at both scales.
The idea
Students usually meet a specimen and its slide in different places: a photo in one lecture, a micrograph in another. Histolayer keeps them in the same view. Scroll in and the cut surface fades into the H&E section of the same region, so the anatomy and the histology finally connect.
How it works
Scroll or pinch from the cut surface down to the slide. Click any region to dive into it, drag to pan.
Step through a short history, the gross findings, the slide and the key features, with pins on the image.
Swipe or fade the slide over the specimen to see exactly which part of the tissue it shows.
Put normal and pathology side by side and move through both at once.
Identify the tissue and condition from the slide, then reveal the answer and the reasoning.
The images
For learning, not diagnosis
The illustrations and AI images have not yet been reviewed by a pathologist and may contain inaccuracies. Real gross and slide pairs usually come from different cases. Always check against your course materials.
